Architectural Facades
The identity of a building, revealed.
Facades act as architectural signatures—communicating rhythm, proportion, and intent. This theme focuses on surface composition, repetition, and the interplay of light and shadow across elevations.

Artist’s Note
A facade is a building’s first conversation with the world. In these images, I explore how repetition, shadow, and material create visual identity.
By photographing facades head-on or in controlled perspective, the architecture becomes graphic—almost abstract—while still grounded in structure.
Jay Britto
“I think of facades as architectural portraits. They reveal rhythm, proportion, and character all at once. Photographing them allows me to focus on how a building presents itself—before function or interior ever come into play.”
